I have Horton's since 1997 and used all kind of drugs to fight the pain. Never had a bad trip. The worst I had was in the beginning, I thought I was on a kind of house party with all the booming in my head for 3 days. and that was on legal medication from the doctor....
they say Horton's will go away if the patient gets older. Above 50 or so the pain and attacks get less and less. I'm almost 44 so I have to wait a few more years
