well it's based off of the directx architecture where older revisions are compatible with newer.... and that makes things much easier. I highly doubt the ps2/ps3 are ever remotely related in their architecture.

LOL DirectX last I checked was an API. The original Xbox uses the RISC intruction set but relied on modified pentium 3 to process information. The Xbox 360 uses the xenon cpu which is on the power architecture and also uses RISC instruction set.
