The emulation patent that Sony registered is a HARDWARE based emulator patent, let's say something like a peripheral that you could buy saperatelly.
Everyone that can read the schematic can understand that it's not just an enclosed code patent inside software but there is a hardware inbetween the whole story.
Whoever is that Spencer guy (I guess he is not from Resident Evil series huh? XD) did a very nice explanation what does an Interpreter and a Decompiler do in emulation but missed the fact what the schematic shows exactly. He kind of explained exactly the opposite what this patent shows in this schematic.
