The little PS2 I have has been so abused and it just keeps on going.

True and it should be.
PSN Plus is a little too pricey to justify but I think its on par with a monthly XBLN script.
There are some big savings with PSN Plus, but if you dont have the cash to spend there is nothing to save.
I really like the PSN network and dont mind paying for the little arcade games I love so much.

I get this feeling as well.
Seems like both Sony and Microsoft purposely abused their customers this time around.
My "launch spiderman edition" fat lasted almost 3 years even though I left it on all the time.
And then the 3.61? FW made the fan run a lot slower.
I knew it was going to burn up because it already ran hot.
After it died I fixed it up using a heater to reflow, it lasted long enough to transfer everything.
If done correctly its not even necessary to login to PSN again to reactive or download any content.
One of these days I will have to break it out and try to fix it for real.
Its a prime target for a progskeet project.
I know you like to mod hardware... me too.
