@Seņor_Striatum . I have a lacie (Porche design) and it didn't work anymore. Connected the drive without housing to my PC and drive works 100%. Problem with the electronics inside the housing. There are more complains about this problem with my model. No more expensive lacie for me
I know which LaCie you are talking about that is a shame for I was considering getting that one. So I think it is appropriate to say that my experiences regarding LaCie externals is comprised of 3 other individuals and myself. I have mentioned before that my uncle is the one who got me into LaCie for he is a tech who has many hard drives and among these drives he said LaCies have lasted him the longest.

Its kind of ironic, if I am not mistaken, because he owns the porche designed model and this is the one that he left on for two years straight on accident, I will clarify this. But now you got me thinking. The two other individuals own the same model I do for I referred them to it and they do not have problems. With that in mind I can vouch for the model I own but perhaps not for LaCie. Thanks for your comment I intend to look further into this because I would like to get a 3tb, I have been thinking of going with Seagate.
