Aniway is the flat cable who made the light power up not the sata, just check it.
I checked the clip, then i noticed the e3 flasher start always after 2 or 3 min before i power up the ps3.
Now he start 2 sec after but i didnt do so much,dont ask me why, this is a strange device.
If u got a fat just check my screen's and to the same, then power up ps3 and w8 5 min or 6, if nothing happends press reset then then w8 another 5 min.

I have slim one. You mean flat cable is the one which controls leds? I doubt its provide power... I have console in stand-by for 10 minutes now and still nothing... (also checked with console powered up) <_<
