Which kind of defeats the purpose, since you don't need this emulator to play legitimate store-bought PS1 games on a PS3.

Here's a suggestion: Take this emulator a step further. Add back in the "Disc-speed" adjustment option that exists in the PS2 that accounted for the variable disc reading speeds of the PS1, so that games like Return Fire which need that option enabled to run properly will work, even with a legit PS1 copy.
