Buy now to mod later since I don't want to be in the position a lot of PS3 owners are in now (buying a current ps3 that is over 3.55 OFW and not being able to downgrade it). I'm buying one and leaving it on the first firmware it is shipped with and never updating it for later home-brew capabilities.

PS: The PSVita is probably more powerful then any phone today. Until phones with something like Tegra 3 comes out there isn't any competition performance wise, giving developers a lot more flexibility. Don't get me wrong the smart phone has jumped over mountains since they began but I doubt that the portable game console market is not going to be going away anytime soon, maybe a decline but its not going to be gone. That's like saying "Oh the PC can play most of the game titles that are available on Xbox 360 or PS3, whats the point in getting a Xbox 360 or PS3?" because people just do. Just my 2 cents (2 cents = Opinion).
