They just went along for the ride... ride on the back so to speak. Leech a bit, but don't bother those who did the work. And the group with the gift didn't mind, since they knew that there followers appreciated there work and didn't take it for granted.

Sadly, as the scene progressed, other leeches.... bad leeches who where only thinking of what they would get, and who were never satisfied with what they got saw what was there to take. And started joining as well. Instead of quietly taking the ride they tried pushing the workers to get more out of them. Some of the workers initially responded to it, since they liked the attention. But others didn't like the attention... and started to see that the leeches catched too much attention to there scene. Because of the leeches vital information that needed to kept secret started to get leaked making the work harder and almost impossible.

And thats when the scene stood still... it was a time of silence, the leeches crawled together, complaining... eager for the stuff they got themselves addicted to. They got frustrated, started convincing themselves that they had the right to complain and that the workers should share everything. Not seeing that there attitude was the reason for the scene to stop working in the first place.

That scene my friend, never revived... it was... and sadly still is the PSP scene and many others... and unless the attitude of people changes, the same will happen to this scene as well. I beg to all of you to decide; either you take the ride, leech quietly and only give supporting feedback. Or watch the scene die and loose every chance of getting what you want. You don't have to take my word for it, but understand that your attitude can destroy things for all of us. The real devs don't need us and will keep developing even without a vivid scene. So the only people that'll loose are the leeches like you and me.
Please can you provide some kind of evidence, even anecdotal at your claims. The "scene" has always been rotten - for all consoles. It's how it works, 99% leechers, release groups and a few gifted individuals who open up a console and allow piracy.

The ONLY reason it might be slightly different in the case of the PS3 is because...

1. It hasn't been opened!
2. The tool to open it is software.
3. It's so damn popular so higher number of idiots.

In years gone by, it used to take a bit of intelligence to find what you were after if you were interested in piracy. So it attracted less idiots. Even the Xbox 360 takes some actual *work* and intelligence to flash the dvd firmware, that or pay some money to get someone to do it for you. The Wii as well, it can be softmodded but it's nowhere near as simple as putting a CFW on a PS3. It is my strongly held opinion that PS3 owning people are generally more prone to fanboyish ignorance than Xbox 360\Wii owners...Add those things up and you have some fairly good reasons.

But the important part is that this just the reality of a mass market device that suddenly people see free games and whatnot.

This isn't about being greatful, this is about being STUPID. Stupid people say stupid things. Don't hold it against them.
