No. Dongles only really worked on 3.41 firmware. If you bought your console a month ago, then I suspect you are on 3.6X or 3.7X. If you bought it new. No way of hacking it unless it is a non-CECH3000 model right now.
3.55 is highest possible firmware that can be hacked right now. If you are not on it, then you would need to downgrade using a hardware flasher (which does not work on the CECH3000 models). Taking apart your PS3 and all of that good stuff. (PS3 is more complicated than the PS2, by a lot).
