You need to be on OFW 3.55 in which case you can use CFW on your PlayStation 3 to replace patch files and mod the games. If you're on a version later than 3.55, you're out of luck. Even though there are (very complicated) downgrades to OFW 3.55 from OFW 3.7x but recently OFW 4.0.0 was released so I don't know if you're even on OFW 3.7x.
