A lot of people here look at the ethnicity of it and would want to have homebrews and play mini games made by devs. No, we don't wanna buy an old 50$ PC to run homebrew. We wanna run it on our Modern PS3 that we paid for. Therefore you can't just say any jailbreak without Peek and poke is completey useless.
I in no way said homebrew is useless. I talked about alternatives. Maybe it is my fault for not saying "the majority", but maybe it isn't. I know alot of people want homebrew, but that is about 10-25% of the scene. You have to admit, that 75% or so are here because they want to run backups.

Now if you call me a homebrew hater, then take this. I have almost all homebrew made for the PS3. Most of it is on my PS3 waiting to be played. The problem is, I don't live in the past anymore, so I don't get around to playing my homebrew games. I have partially finished homebrew games made by devs. But, as much as I love gaming on my PS3, I only see it as a multimedia device and a gaming console. If I want to use homebrew, I can on my laptop. It is easy, simple, and connectable with my TV. I also have a large variety of homebrew not playable on the PS3.

So in the end, I'm not a homebrew hater. I'm just trying to make a point, majority of people are here for backups. Thats all.

Those who bought (or are considering buying) a TB dongle, why not just buy a used PS3 for a little more? At least then you can rest easy knowing ALL future games will remain playable. Nobody knows the lifespan of TB, and based on past dongles, only an idiot would purchase one rather than forking out a little extra cash and just getting another used ps3.

If you cant afford the extra towards the ps3 (I've saw 320gb slims w/games for $110 locally), then you probably shouldn't be buying a dongle neither...

Personally, I wouldn't pay $1 for a TB dongle, knowing that 99% of what makes it tick is free/open to the scene already. To each his own though.
I like how your using "buy another PS3". Do you actually think we will actually go by another PS3 for games? That excuse is for PSN, not 3.60+ games. Your saying we can buy a $110 PS3, but what about all the games? Say I want 10 games, each game costs $60, so adding the costs of the PS3 your suggesting...

(10*60) + 110 = $710

"Ten" is the exact amount of games I want to play from the TB, so here is what happens when we buy a TB...

(10*0) + 60 = $60

See how money saving it is? The fact the TB costs something, upsets me no doubt. But you saying buy another PS3 is the solution for those with already pre-owned 3.60+ games and PSN.
