Well If it is fake, it sounds to me like they took the opportunity of all those that you mentioned to seem correct, like info about their plans on CCC leaked.
The timing for this rumor is correct and if they do plan it infact for CCC I doubt they would announce it before on their twitter, they never did something like this.
