Well, yes, you can be sure they showed only those who didn't know that.
That's filmmaking.
But it's not a lie that more people/teenagers simply don't know about that stuff.
And are, just as you said, ignorant bastards.
I always meet people, for example on Counter Strike, spraying the "Hakenkreuz", but don't even have any idea what it means or where it comes from.
(I know, mentioning Counter Strike Players in a debatte about ignorance is quite ignorant. ^^)
