Seriously though, let me just stop and say that some of us Americans are aware of what is going on in that region of the world, and I personally am ashamed (not surprised) by what my country has been complicit in.

And if any Israeli's are reading this thread and believe we're being overly critical, look at your local news media and then look at ours. I've seen the Israeli media be more critical of how Israel has handled the situation than either the US or British media. Although it doesn't help that Israel has a massive and well organised PR campaign that jumps at any article from a mainstream publication that so much as 'hints' at being mildly critical of their nation.

It's completely ridiculous to say things like "Israel is a peace loving country" or claiming self-preservation when we both know that 99% of the time, it's Israel that 'casts the first stone'. I'm not against the existence of Israel or anything like that, although I do believe the circumstances behind its establishment were very artificial and Israel only exists today because of foreign interference's, thus it wouldn't be unreasonable to infer that this nation should never have been established to begin with and the region known as the Middle East would be a lot better off and a lot more stable if it were not for Israel. But what's done is done. It's in the past not, but that does not excuse their current agenda. The bs needs to stop. Israel is going to have to own up to its mistakes eventually anyway.
