Extracting pup with fail0ver tools is trivial and this post is not really mindbending news as some seem to think.
I'm sure that devs & others have been tinkering these dev_flash / ps3update.pup files for a while. Way to exploit loaders, then patch lv0 / lv1 & signing is needed for new cfw imho.
