also thanks moogie for the explanation And sorry to get your hopes up (

the good news is yeah this is enough to get true blue running, so thanks for the tip v8s10...
also don't mess with peek and poke while using tb, or brick...
Pockets69, can I get some help with this? I'm trying to understand what is happening here, maybe your source can help too.

Nobody try this please!!!

I tried exactly what you said not to...lol. Here is what i did:
Started with my PS3 on 4.00 fw (was QA flagged when I updated previously)
I then flashed the nor with the patched 3.70 firmware dump that I originally used to downgrade this PS3.
Went into Factory/service mode and installed Rogero v2.
Checked that QA was still enabled and it was.
Then with update debug enabled downgraded to kmeaw 3.55 (not the one with lv1 checks patched).
Once on kmeaw, i ran toggle_qa.pkg to disable QA. Checked with button combo and it was disabled...no extra options in the update menu either.
Then from the xmb I updated from kmeaw 3.55 to 3.70 fw....No brick.
Then updated to 3.73...no brick.
Then to 4.00 fw.....again no brick.

I'm just wondering why this worked if it shouldn't have. Would it make any difference if i downgraded to 3.41 instead of kmeaw 3.55? Got any insight?
Thanks for your help!
