a Friend bought his ps3 over and it had the red screen error on it. did some research and most seemed to say this was a hard drive error.
its a older verion ps3 so i took hard drive out and plugged into my computer
checked it for errors and nothing came up but it showed that it was not formated.
i formated it to fat32 and worked fine on computer
plugged it back into ps3 and booted up.
didn't come up red screen instead
went straight to screen saying connect controler using usb cable and press the PS button .
did this and said need to reinstall the system software.
so downloaded 3.55 ofw and put on usb stick.
reinstalled it and went through to 100% and seemed to go fine
but then restarts and go to same screen saying sysem software need to be reinstalled
any ideas would be greatly appreciated
