Right have a small problem with my 60GB fat PS3 that I am hoping you maybe able to help with.
I had a 40GB CECHG03 that was on OFW 4.0 but the logic board is slightly faulty as it can see a PS3 game but when I choose to play it all I get is a black screen and then booted back to XMB with an 80010017, it can however play PSN games etc. I was told I would need to unsolder something from my old logic board and replace it with the same part from a working logic board. Well I suck at soldering and there isn't anyone really local who would do it for me.
So I went on ebay of joy and found a PS3 CECHC 60GB PS3 with 3.41 OFW on it, I won it and got it this morning however now I have a big problem with it. I decided that I would update it to 3.55 OFW and then install CFW so I could get my homebrew back BUT something has gone horribly wrong.
I downloaded the OFW 3.55 from PS3hax and put it on my fat32 USB drive in the PS3\UPDATE directory. Went into recovery mode and done the update system option, it found the update on flash drive and started to install it. It got to about 56% but then I heard a beep and saw that the power light was flashing red *PANIC!*, my system then turned itself off with 3 beeps *DOUBLE PANIC!*.
Now I can turn on my PS3 and it goes green for a little while, but when it starts to load the XMB (my HD screen goes blank and shows the resolution set in top right corner) but then it beeps, starts to flash red and finally switches itself off with 3 beeps and the light flashing red.
I have just learnt from the seller that the logic board inside is not the original or/is faulty (i thought however from what I remeber this would just do the endless install loop).
Could it be the dodgey logic board? could it be its overheating (by looks of things by sticky label inside it had the YLOD before) or is the NAND now buggered. Any ideas or recommendations welcome.
Thanks for looking.
