From what I've compared the wasabi just makes the flashing process a bit less hectic since opening slims is kind of a pain in the ass. Much like a matrix pcb replacement, it has a usb port where you can just connect your usbpro and just flash your drive quickly without needing to open your console ever again. The games run from an external hdd, just like the 360key and all the others...When you flash your drive (no matter if it's from a fat or slim, even the latest) should ALWAYS be updated to the latest dash before flashing. If you're flashing a slim make sure you recover the key before you replace the pcb on it!! You should be good if you're up to date with 3.0 and your patching with the latest abgx.
