dc++ and irc, those where the good old days, hubs/servers/channels and straight download, and you can even ask that person for questions, it's chat + download all in one  , most of them where private and had lots of rules, even for sharing

But now seriously: This is just the FBI and some big global partners (like $ony and other media giants) that put the finger to the politics. This is going to look like a coup d'etat (I know, google translate) by media tycoons with help of the internal FBI army...

But we Dutch are always better.... We vote en masse against the european Constitution and guess what? Correct, the Dutch government put the finger against its own people and accepts the "constitution" (after changing it a very little bit, but no re-vote) with the argument we as simple people don't understand what it really is about. Sure, we are all to stupid to read and understand the complete paper (telling us we have to give up our nationality) they sent everybody.
Powerful organizations and governments abuse their power on big scale because their is no one who can actually stop them. they are just to powerful and as long as it brings more money to the powerful people who have already to much of it, everything is possible and accepted these days. Freedom? A word from the past.... can be deleted from every dictionary on this world..... or maybe change the meaning to "total control" because that is what it actually is.
