Ever since the slim 3k model came out, jailbreaking is impossible. But any other ps3 that has higher firmware needs a hardware flasher to downgrade(some people don't want to take any risks doing so). That is why they are willing to pay money for one that has 3.55 or lower. If you search on ebay "ps3 3.55" you'll see crazy prices and reasonable prices. Good luck
