You probably want to start with flashing your xbox.
Get the tools (x360usb, probe, etc..) You can find these bundles on mod sites, for starters learning xbox modding/flashing. All fat 360's can be flashed, slims differ because...
1) Early model slims brought the d2s drive, so those you can flash normally (just kind of hard to find)
2)Later model slims can be flashed, but they need a PCB replacement.
3)Some of the newer model slims can't be flashed yet, but they WILL be able soon!
...so that's up to you which console you'd like. Burning games is simple, just remember to patch your games if you plan on going online. The media manufacturer really doesn't matter, some may last longer but they all run the same. We're online 24/7 here and have never been banned, the worst case was my little brothers black ops getting zapped for not patching the game on abgx. I don't know what else to say..lol
