Apparently there are some steps missing regarding the Decrypting/Encrypting the IDPS in order to modify it, so as is this most likely won't work, you are free to try it out, of course but be warned it can brick

Well after a few months of the information been hiding in plain sight someone finally took it and used it to convert the ps3 into a debug.

thank you hacksawz12 from Ps3 news for posting the tutorial.

1. Get otheros++ running on 3.41 or 3.55, I used 3.41 but 3.55 should work as well.

2. boot linux, and dump your nor flash, with

dd if=/dev/ps3nflasha of=nor.bin
3. ensure that /dev/ps3dmproxy exits, if not look here - ps3devwiki.com/index.php?title=OtherOS%2B%2B#ps3dm-utils

4. download and compile ps3dm-utils..

5. dump your ipds, with

./ps3dm_aim /dev/ps3dmproxy get_dev_id
6. now open your nor dump with a hex editor searching for your ipds, you should find it twice, replace the 6th byte with 82 on both of them

7. Flash the nor.

dd if=modifiednor.bin of=/dev/ps3nflasha
This takes a while..

8. Prepare a flash drive for service mode, with the 3.41 debug firmware - do not flash a higher firmware - as well as a lv2diag.self

9. Finally, flash that as if you were downgrading, and you are now on a full debug firmware...

There you go guys, now a few warnings, this as you see involves flashing your NOR, flashing your NOR should not be attempted without a flasher, if you don't know what this is, or how good it will do you, this is NOT for you.
DO NOT USE IT IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FLASHER!
also hacksawz12 on step 5 said ipds (probably a typo) its not ipds its idps.
did i mention the fact that DO NOT USE IT WITHOUT A FLASHER!

as far as the convert goes, i am not sure how much of a convert this is, what i mean is, if it fully converts to a DEX or make it into an hybrid, but i do believe that it fully converts to a DEX with every option working.
