thanks for the reply. I didn't know the game patching was for cheating. I am not interested in that either.

I started doing some more reading into the dual boot firmware.

It sounds like I need three things:

I USB JailBreak Dongle
A modchip either E3 Flasher, or ProgSkeet
and a second hardrive

can someone confirm that this is correct? I am still confused as to why I need all three but it seams to be a consistent set of requirements.
