Hard question to answer, been so long since the scene had good news that everyone has grown impatient or just accepted this is it for the PS3.

Would be nice to have a fully developed exploit to jailbreak new PS3s, but then if you do not have the time then it does seem like you have wasted a lot of time on it.
But then again releasing what you have to the public will give $ony a chance to patch it.

I say wait until Summer, if you havent been able to make any more progress on it, release what you have. Yes $ony will be able to patch it, but then if more devs can use your work to try themselves we may get others finishing it.

But then tbh, wouldnt they already be working on it? And since we havent heard anything new in over a year, it seems you are the only one doing something, so releasing it could be a bad idea.
Or even worse the only ones who end up being to use it are teams like TB and cobra, or those who do finish it start selling their own dongles, making profit from your work.

Still think wait until summer, if nothing happens release the code, if someone tries to profit from your work, you know not to touch a $ony product again or release an unfinished piece of work. If people complain you can tell them to stop buying dongles and supporting those dongle scum!

AS for those devs who are afraid to release their work, if they are smart enough to create it they would be smart enough to go to an internet cafe or leech of someone else's unsecure wireless connection and upload the files under a new email and accounts and claim they are leaking it or stole it etc, that way the dev can stay safe from being sued as there is no evidence to show they did it.
