i also wanted to make this post because my nor chip didn't look like anyone elses.. i evened watched tuts made specifically for the slim and none of them match what mine looks like..
i have the CECH-2001A version, very first slim made.. if anyones interested i'll make sure i post pictures of the clips orientation.. (it took me a couple tries just to figure that out...)

I have your same model slim, you have to chisel a portion of the hard drive's grill in order for your strip to fit nicely. I still don't recommend putting nickels on your clip, sticky tape and some good pressure should suffice. The process can be a pain thouygh, just be patient!!! I took my slim apart maybe ten times, at least you get a good idea of how things work. (Not to mention putting it back together in record times lol)
