Don't worry about what the CPU supports. You have to look at what your motherboard manual says. If it says it supports memory up to 1600MHz or more you are fine. No matter what CPU is in it. I'm not sure how exactly does that work. But it's a tech that automatically overclocks your CPU to work with higher frequency memories.
