In the meantime, perhaps pete_uk can compile an updated version of the Genesis Plus GX core for RetroArch PS3 with two player controls fixed and post it for you. Installing the PKG on your PS3 would then automatically upgrade the pre-existing core.

well, i reinstalled it and that worked. i'm just having troubles with fba now. it just keeps freezing and i've tried two games now. does anyone know if maybe they have to be on internal? i only really used mame on a computer a while back, so i transferred over a few games and they keep freezing. none are that big or anything...i'm gonna try a snes game to see if maybe it's everything for me. that'd bite...will edit this soon...hopefully with better luck .

It's most probably down to having the wrong romset. The newest version is 0.2.97.26. The full romset is around 10gb.
