Lol bad idea, either ur psi got is naff or u have blown ur ps3, could try and convert a pc psu for testing, the power supply runs to the mobo and the button panel on the front, the button panel should have powers as when u press the power button it tells the psu to power up the mobo, if u have an old psu from a pc u can bridge it and test the ps3, when using a pc psu power goes to both but as the psu is bridged it will send power to mobo and panel at the same time so u should be able to see if it's the panel or mobo... I hope it makes sence... I did do a thread a while ago on how to do it
