You Are missing the point you know, and to make it as simple as possible for you.....
XBox = If you have the skill you can do it for yourself, but even if you do not have the skill, the information is still free to read and share around.
PS3 = If you have the skill you can do it for yourself, but if you cannot, then you Have to pay for a DRM device which serves No purpose other than forcing the use of said device (vicious circle 101 lol)

agreed, but since you need hardware to Jtag your Xbox360 it's easy for someone to make money out of it. Since PS3 has a completely software based solution it's harder for them to make money out of it, so they made the software dependent on 'useless' hardware. The same companies that make your hardware that allows Xbox Jtagging are the companies that make DRM dongles. They just use different names.
I'm not really a gamer, but I do own a lot of consoles since I love toying with them. But My Xbox360 hasn't been 'toyed' with since the scene went hardware.
