Here is what I did to test the c2d.exe

Install Visual studio C++ redistribution and Openssl-Win32. OpensslWin32 in C: but kept getting warning that it was not found so I renamed the Openssl-Win32 to just Openssl and all seems to have went fine.

I had this done a little while ago so I had all the needed files and have a dex.bin to md5 against and the two check out. So the my original conversion dex.bin and the one that the c2d.exe made have matching md5 checksums.

To me this is good news and I believe that this will work!

So yes you will need linux to dump metldr. Once you have metldr you need to copy the key from it.

I would suggest some reading!
http://wiki.gitbrew.org/wikibrew/PS3:OtherOS%2B%2B
then
http://wiki.gitbrew.org/wikibrew/PS3:Linux#Debian
you will need the SS patch for ps3dm,sm, and other ps3 dev tools. So see:
http://wiki.gitbrew.org/wikibrew/PS3:Tools
and finally

Remember to thank graf who got us linux back and all the great crew at gitbrew for maintaining it after!

A personal thanks to all who have worked hard and released all this great info!
