is right when he said you can't "generalize" and blame every single PS3 developer for dongles, or withholding this method. There are many who do not dabble with pirating games and it's not the %1 goal.

However, there has always been that gap of hombrewers and pirates ever since it became easy to develop for consoles (back in the day you'd maybe see some demos, intros, a silly homebrew game or two, but nothing more). It may be "funny" to blame people like Math that you have zero proof is behind any Dongle or curse at people like DeanK who's software you depend on using for your gaming collection, but neither cases has there been any proof on exactly what conspired. So go post silly pictures, curse at them and maon, but sceners like myself simply look at these types with pitty and wonder what even motivates such immature actions.
I also see this CEX->DEX method as

only being able to be taken advantage of by people who already know or who are willing to learn how to use basic methods like installing Linux, flashing the PS3, patching backups. A lot of CFW users on 3.55 had a hard time extracting the zip/rar/zoo archive that contained the PUP as I saw people making money flashing CFW back when it came out for other people who have no idea how to use their computers.
I'm sure more tools will come out making the process easier, but it was mentioned that people who purchased their PS3 after Jan2011 are still SOL as are the OFW users. While this may be exciting for the clinch demographic the majority of PS3 users cannot benefit from it.
Touching on Sony they do indeed not only read the news, but

take a proactive stance in the scene by dedicating a lot of time working with sceners and possibly developers (without revealing their identity or in Geohot's case made it public). When the PS1 first came out Kerry Hopkins the main lady on Sony's legal team formed the first "task force" to seek out and disrupt the flow of modchips and game enhancers into the USA by means of putting pressure on US Customs (which they still employ today) and seeking legal and punitive action against resellers.
This was before the DMCA and the major busts that closed 99% of modchip stores in the later 2000's. Now with the DMCA most hosts won't flinck and will take down whatever is requested without warning to their web clients sometimes for days or if they are kind inform the user to take down the content instead of taking out the entire page or in some cases the site itself. There is a way to fight DMCA take-downs and get your content returned to you, but most common sceners/hackers for whatever reasons do not go down this slipperly slope as it involved revealing personal details. Missing information from Wikis that don't even fall under DMCA jurisdiction cam also be explained due to a loophole that any domain name that is owned by a USA register (like .com / .org) can be shutdown therefor rendering the site inaccessible and this threat usually leads to the content Sony wants down being removed.
As for people constantly blaming developers for

their own problems (or what they see as their own problems - mainly not being able to pirate the latest games) it's not their responsibility to do anything for us and if you want something done right my Old Man always told me "Do it yourself". I blame the divide between developers not on the homebrew crew in which for the most part homebrew developers are respected by sceners, but I do blame it on the pirate hungry leechers who want it their way, right away and right now. What's the old saying .... "it takes one to know one" and I've been there.
With all that said the CEX-DEX method will now allow 3.56+ pirated content to run through 4.11 (unless this mysterious 4.20D EX PUP is appears) and I think that the few people left with 3.55 should be thankful for that and should go play their free stuff and stop bickering on a forum about what may or may not be. Go have fun! Wasn't this what you've all been wanting? It may not work exactly the way you expected it to as most people after getting someone want it to work the same as the last, but regardless you can play games now? So go play! Or does that not interest you? If so then what the heck does?
