Treats it as a Game asset? well I would assume you mean it treats it as an ELF or any other part of the game thats decrypted and loaded. This may be able to lead to something couldn't really say. Haven't seen how the system handles these files (If the eboot it's self contains the instructions to decrypt these files it's probably not going to work but if the consoles software is handeling the decryption after it loads eboot.bin then it could work). but simply creating a piece of homebrew that chain loads the eboot would do nothing for you. you must first figure out a way of making the system think it's reading the eboot from a master disc to make it simply load the file with no fuss. I am all for seeing backup managers play these titles but again the method I mentioned is something that would work to fix it for all jailbreak users not just DEX users. It's known that eboot.bin is decrypted and loaded into memory. I believe if a DEX console runs the eboot it will then decrypt any asset's realated to that eboot without any fuss which could again be dumped from ram right after the task is done to get these decrypted files from memory and create a working CFW patch for the title which would let it work on CEX CFW and DEX CFW as well. Ultimately a better solution to focus on figuring out a way of doing that IMHO. However for the games that aren'ty running because they have no updates etc there could be a means of tricking the DEX firmware into loading the file. Let me see if I can find any more detailed info on eboot.bin.
Speaking of CFW Prophet I've not hear from him since he mentioned his project. I do wonder whats up there.... though dev units weren't possible for the general public a couple months ago. now that they are maybe this project would be something to really fire up and get into.
