I have to agree I have a contact at a PC shop near me and he has a good BGA infra red station and he has done many ( at least 20 ) YLOD for me in the last 2 years and everyone is still going stong.
The 20 consoles plus are guys at work and family members.
1 guy at my works is hard core gamer ( he's single ) and he will play for hours every day, well I got his YLOD console fixed for him over 5 months ago and its still going.
All he does is flux and puts them under for a while, the key is to move it away very slow bit by bit.

Mate if you are in the USA then look up racer0018 he might be able to help you. Of course its not a free service but its better than buying a new console.
