Put the upgrade on a tf card. Set switch 1 up the rest down then turn on the ps3. Once it's on, then set the dip switches 1and 2 down, the rest up and hit the reset button on the flasher NOT the console. It is the red button under the sata connection. Once you do that, and the blue lights start flashing, then hit start. When all the blue lights are done lighting and go back to flashing, then it is complete. Then continue with dumping bios

I just finished reading your post, DO NOT USE BIOS FROM ANOTHER CONSOLE. I promise they have per console data, that if you loose yours, it is game over for real.
