Dude - this whole scene pirates. The kind of 'piracy' the end-users are involved in is nothing compared to the more serious offenses that remain 'private' for a long time.
Bottom line - IDGAF about some fatcat publisher/manager being able to pay for his hookers and his penthouse suite while the average coder/designer gets treated like dog****.
Your 'videogame industry' is the biggest tech sweatshop of the 21st industry - it's a crappy industry and it doesn't deserve any support - it doesn't treat its workers with any respect, it doesn't treat talent with any respect - it no longer turns out any good games - and it's also become anti-consumer (online passes, DRM, all sorts of stupid ****).
So **** your 'addiction' to videogames - I put workers' rights first - and for those 'rights' to ever turn around, big fatcat executives have to feel the pain.
If you were actually educated and had a brain, you would have seen real 'developers' from videogame companies like Rockstar posting on Gamasutra that WISHED the game (Red Dead Redemption) would be pirated to hell - 'piracy' hurts nobody oher than a bunch of PR executives that have the majority of stock options in 'first day sales' - your average coder/programmer never sees a penny from that.
You're deluded, misguided and full of propaganda - lay off the industry koolaid - it isn't real and you're a sucker for a couple of big PR managers that don't care about games to begin with.

PIRACY IS PRESERVATION.
Without piracy, you would not even have a ROM to run on any emulator. Without piracy, there would be no point to PS3 CFW - don't let anybody else kid you - not a single user would be bothering with CFW right now if it weren't for the ability to play backups. IDGAF what everybody says - everybody wants to play this BS game of 'lie to yourself' - I don't - I see it like it is and I tell it like it is.
