@killerloader have you tried a rip straight from a loader without running it through discEx etc as its not required anyway, don't compress it either.

The only time I had the error you have is when I was placing my resident evil rips in the same folder under different names, the game will boot under another name other than game.iso but it crashes with the error you mentioned shortly after.

I'm sure it something you hadn't overlooked but maybe double check.
