rogero cfw has the downgrade hashes and it's these downgrade hashes that need removing by de-hashing (using 3.55 ofw or 3.55 no bd ofw) then you can change firmware without this "soft brick"

yea if you do this yourself then as Bigbones87 has said above if you de-hash in fsm then do it a few times so you know it has done it.
if you use the QA flag way then it should do it the first time but i still do it 2-3 times just as its quicker to de-hash 2-3 times then to have done something wrong and have to re-do the whole downgrade again.

(i call this the RLOD but i know others call this YLOD so i leave what you call it up to you lol)
as the ps3 gives you no chance to do anything befor it turns off then you need a hardware flasher to dump the NOR / NAND firmware then check its a good dump. patch it for downgrade. write it back.
and now it will stop the panic and let you finish the downgrade etc

What you said about the PS3 is in a panic sounds about right.I also enquired about this. He did tell me that he has a dump of my original bios. The model number is CECHL04.I will request that he send my console back and to upload the original dump and then try another repair service.I live in south africa though so options are a bit limited.
