RAM memory. The ps3 has chips that temporary store game data and assets. This is the memory that gets dumped to the coredump.
In case of

's dogma dump, the game had assigned 512MB of virtual memory when it crashed. I have the main game/elf dumped from there but can't test since i don't know which version the crash is from.
(I need the original eboot.bin in order to construct the elf64 section headers to even get a proof of concept.)
