Who said they wanted to join TB? Last time I checked, giving a potential employer's product away for free doesn't win you points with the boss. Think about your job in fast food... if you give your friends free food, are they going to promote you or fire you?

Not necessarily. Tons of other ways they could be getting that data... some of them are floating around right now.
