Thanks for the information and clarification on this subject. Hopefully in the near future somebody will develop a way to access write permissions for a PS3 disc so that we could buy a game and just copy the fixes on it without having to worry about ripping the game through your PS3 first (causes stress on your system) and doing the same method.

I don't think there will ever be a way to change the files on an original game disc. It just isn't possible.
