Aw man, that sux. That disc was in the drive, wasn't it?
When Qa Flag is toggled on, the ps3 will look to the drive for the pup file first.
Looks like you will need to downgrade it again.
Edit - actually Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition has OFW 3.40.
