Now the only thing is that the fan kicks into turbo after about 5 minutes so i have to play it with my ac on. I'm looking into lapping the heat spreaders and replacing the paste underneath them which is supposed to fix that problem.

I have a 60Gb model, I try out the fan test and nothing happens, seems to be there's only fan test for 40gb, 80gb and later on models...
Anyways, I think I'll do the same as you to fix the ylod, but just one question, where I can get the "kester 951 flux", or something a like?
