It shouldn't be a red light. It should have 8 blue LEDs that alternate 4 then 4. If you don't get the blue blinking lights, then the unit is getting power, but the clip isn't seated right. Or you could have a clone.

I'm sure it's not a clone. Does this mean I need to open it up again and try to reseat the chip? To be clear, I just got done installing it and haven't made a backup yet.
