You see that big black chip below the nor? It should have a thermal pad on it, and it doesn't. This is completely unrelated, I just noticed it. I would look into replacing it with another thermal pad or maybe you have the one that came off it? Anyway, back on topic. If you believe it is not gender the clip at all then that is ok. Just make sure you get a good clip after cleaning both the clip and nor. After you hear it click good, Make sure it is flush on all sides. Then tape it really good with strong tape, and then put the hard foam on it. Then tape it again. Give that a shot.
