You know, people in Portugal hate the new orthographic because it's too Brazilian-ish and so they don't care if they're outdated or not.
Same goes for British English and American English.
Just don't try to put it all in the same bag, it gets messy.

There is no right and wrong, only the lack of acceptance that (stupid) people in both countries may have. Unfortunately, we ARE all in the same bag in terms of language - different cultures, same language. I wish that we were not, I prefer the old grammar rules :P
