I got my PS3 on the EU release date, the only TV i had at the time was a 46" SD Rear Projection, my first game was Genji and it looked awesome on my TV, i was blown away when i played it on my new HD TV a month later.
I would never look down, nor make fun of anyone with an SD TV though, there are many, many reasons for them having one, like being a teenager, not all parent want to or can afford to buy them a HD TV and a lot of parents wont let their kids use the big HD TV in the living room.
Adults that still are using an SD TV, could be using it because they are students, or they don't get paid much and spend their money on more important things like living.
