I am pretty sure he never asked for donations, I've never see a request or a link for a donations in any of the posts I've read.
But then if he asks for nothing why did he sell out to Cobra? Why not just ask for donations first?
Noone is denying that mm is a great app, we all use it cos it is the best manager around. There are devs that do things for free and there are devs who ask for donations, but when they sell out to a company for the sake of money, it's not taken well. He decided to, and it's his choice to do so, but by doing so a lot of the community has lost some respect towards him.
It wasnt about the work he does, it's about his attitude. As said before, he denied that he was now working for Cobra, and continued denying it when confronted with proof; and when the truth was finally know it seems like he started being a dick and was banned from this site.
