Just an FYI but some nvidia GPUs (yes 7800 GTX which is same tech as PS3 GPU runs at around 70c with no load - normal. It's fine up to around 115c.

Cell CPU....Dunno about that...

But it sure isn't 30c as @condorstrike has stated imo. These are air cooled and have tiny heatsinks and fans on them. Not a chance you're going to get 30c temp under no load. I would expect a temp of around 50c under no load is perfectly normal taking the cooling into account (very poor).

There will be massive variations in people's base temps because the PS3 uses Cells based on different manufacturing processes from 90nm down to 45nm for the CPU, and similar for the GPU depending on age of model

Fat models will get a lot hotter than slim ones.
Temps between 50°c & 65°c are what I aim for on my Falcon Jtag. Any higher than that and it gets new thermal paste and a clean.

I just installed my E3 so it got a clean & new paste.. I'll take my base and load temps from this point.
